How do I dispute a Visa card transaction?

While card or online transactions are convenient, it's important to monitor your account frequently for accuracy and merchant integrity. Should you notice something amiss, contact us right away. Disputes can be based on the following reasons:

  • Fraud
  • Cancelation and/or Return of Goods or Services
  • Goods or Services Were Not Received
  • Quality of Service/Merchandise
  • Processing Errors

To dispute a transaction, call 1-800-303-3838, and choose the Card Services menu. To verify your identity and keep your account secure, you will be asked to verify information, along with details regarding the transaction(s). Once the claim has been filed, you can expect to see a provisional credit to your account within 5 business days. The merchant then has 45 days to respond to the claim. In the event that a merchant responds with documents, you will be asked to provide a rebuttal in writing to proceed with the dispute.
