Current Positions Available

Financial Counselor - Full -Time - Redding

Provides clerical assistance to the Asset Recovery Department. Answers phones, processes correspondence, and maintains accurate files. Contacts members to determine the reason for the past-due condition of a loan. Makes recommendations on actions that should be taken if loan collateral is in jeopardy, reporting to the Asset Recovery Manager.
 

Salary Range: $18.00 to $27.00

Essential Functions
  1. Makes out-bound calls and maintains call queue to credit union standards.
  2. Processes all correspondence for collections department, ensuring accuracy of work. Creates form letters, prepares labels, and provides general administrative support.
  3. Notifies co-signers regarding status of delinquent accounts.
  4. Maintains collection files according to department procedures.
  5. Inputs data into the credit union’s collection system and generates reports as requested.
  6. Responds to telephone calls regarding payment notices and delinquent accounts.
  7. Supervises mailing of payment notices, ensuring that credit union errors are detected promptly and corrected.
  8. Provides members with a complete explanation of the loan’s status as requested.
  9. Follows up on delinquent loans and make calls for interest, partial, or full payment.
  10. Maintains a detailed written record of all communications made regarding the delinquency.
  11. Receives and prepares receipts for mailed payments directed to the department and routes to tellers as needed.
  12. Prepares information needed or required by collection agency, and posts receipts from collection agency.
  13. Performs skip tracing duties as required and directed.
  14. Is responsible for compliance with all required regulations and polices, especially with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies, procedures and regulations.
  15. Meet monthly sales goals.
  16. Other duties as assigned.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
  1. Must be able to multitask and be tolerant of interruptions throughout the day as needed to serve members.
  2. Must be willing to work in a team environment and meet established deadlines.
  3. Must be willing to accept and to follow credit union policies and procedures.
  4. Problem solving where development of new solutions, methods and systems will result in a major impact on department's overall success.
  5. Analyze situations or current practices. Determine changes to improve and make recommendations to superiors. When approved, see projects through to completion.
  6. Mathematical ability enough to add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate averages, and work with percentages.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively by telephone, in group meetings and discussions. Ability to give and receive information accurately. Participate in routine meetings and make informative presentations to individuals and to groups.
  8. Ability to follow directions and procedures accurately and to organize facts and figures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  1. Prolonged sitting, operating a personal computer consistently throughout the day and communicating by telephone for extended periods daily.
  2. Ability to read printed words and numbers in printed form and on computer/terminal monitor.
  3. Communicate by telephone for up to 30 minutes at a time daily.
  4. Hearing enough to clearly hear voices in person and on the telephone.
  5. Performing work through repetitive eye/hand coordination.
  6. Daily standing for up to 15 minutes at a time while operating office equipment such as a FAX, printer or photocopier.
  7. Write using pen/pencil or personal computer keyboard for extended periods daily.
  8. Must be able to enter, drive, and exit repossessed vehicles as needed.
Job Qualifications
  1. Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  2. Must have minimum of 1 year experience in collections, preferably in a financialinstitution.
  3. General skills applicable to this position include:
  1. Must have strong organizational skills and be detail oriented.
  2. Must have well developed time management skills.
  3. Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Ability to interact tactfully and professionally with credit union staff and with external contacts. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in dealing with repossessions, bankruptcy, and other sensitive matters.
  5. Strong computer skills including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.  Microsoft Outlook is desirable.
  6. Must have excellent grammar and proof reading skills.
Must pass pre-employment drug test and background screens, which includes a credit report.

Full-Time Member Service Representative - Chico

Provides consistent excellent service to our walk-in and phone members. Performs transactions and side duties in an accurate and timely manner. Takes an active role in cross training in the branch and participating in weekly staff meetings. Actively promotes and provides credit union products and services to our members. Will be assigned to work on projects within the branch and/or in support of other departments within the credit union when needed.  Must be able to work full-time hours, during the working hours of Monday through Thursday 8:15 am to 5:15 pm and Friday 8:15 am to 5:45 pm.

Salary Range: $15.00-$22.50 DOE - Health, GAP, Dental, Vision, Life, 401k, PTO, Paid Holidays plus other perks!

Essential Functions
  1. Provides excellent member service to members in the branch, through email, chat and calling on the phone.
  2. Performs variety of transactions in person and over the phone, including but not limited to: deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, purchase of monetary instruments, sale of stamps, reviewing account history, certificate transactions, etc.
  3. Learn and become comfortable with credit union products and services available for members including, but not limited to: accounts offered, interest bearing accounts, cards, card transactions, online banking, e-statements, audio response, direct deposit, basic knowledge of loan products, etc.
  4. Must look for opportunities to refer products and services to each member, as fits their needs.
  5. Must know and implement all financial institution policies and regulations: such as BSA, OFAC, Reg CC, Reg DD, Reg E, Reg P, etc.
  6. Must know how to open new accounts and additional suffixes.
  7. Process cash with accuracy and security measures set in place according to policy.
  8. Responsible to read, study and apply credit union policies and procedures as assigned.
  9. Properly identifies members in the branch and over the phone.
  10. Participates in side jobs including, but not limited to: night drop processing, ATM processing, branch balancing, check balancing, auditing various operations functions, keeping branch organized, supply inventory, scanning and copying.
  11. Complies with office safety and security guidelines and training.
  12. Participates in appropriate and applicable training through the credit union library, on-site trainings, cross training to ensure job knowledge is current and up to date.
  13. Completes quarterly compliance training in all required regulations and policies.
  14. Maintains compliance with all required regulations and policies, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies, procedures and regulations.
  15. Support loan center - assist loan center by connecting member with loan center staff.
  16. Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications
  1. High School diploma or GED.
  2. Experience in banking as well as working with the public and/or in customer service.
  3. Experienced in cash handling is a MUST.
  4. Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  5. General skills applicable to this position include:
    1. A minimum of a beginner level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
    2. Advanced skills in using computers and related equipment, 10-key calculator, multi-line telephone/intercom systems, and a variety of general office equipment including copy machines, scanners, and fax equipment.
    3. Ability to interact tactfully and professionally with Credit union staff as well as external contacts. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in dealing with various personnel and member information.
  6. Light travel is required. Travel to the various branch locations or to off-site trainings may be necessary on occasion.
  7. Background checks, including a credit check and drug screen required.
