Current Positions Available

Accounting Specialist-Redding, CA

Maintains accurate accounting records; completes account reconciliations regularly, maintains prepaid and fixed asset subsidiary ledgers in compliance with GAAP, assists in financial statement preparation, assists in accounts payable preparation, and serves as an accounting resource to other departments.

Salary Range: $17.49 to $26.24 DOE

Essential Functions
  1. Balances bank statements on a daily basis and transfers funds as needed.
  2. Reconciles general ledger accounts as defined in the accounting department work plan and backs up team members when necessary.
  3. Compiles information from branches, departments, and other resources and prepares journal entries as needed.  Troubleshoots outages and communicates with other staff to investigate problems.
  4. Responsible for completing entries and balancing the prepaid expenses subsidiary ledger.
  5. Responsible for completing entries and balancing the fixed asset subsidiary ledger and providing tags to branches to track new purchases.
  6. Assists in the preparation of tax forms, including sales tax returns, property tax reports, 1099/1098 forms, and annual information returns.
  7. Responsible for posting monthly and quarterly accruals.
  8. Assists with transactions and reports related to investment purchases, sales, and monthly income recognition.
  9. Processes Accounts Payable, as well as, related adjusting entries and reporting.
  10. Completes tasks and projects as assigned.
  11. Attends occasional early morning “all staff required” training meetings.
  12. Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
  1. Minimum Associates’ degree in accounting or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  2. Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  3. Must have strong research and critical thinking skills.
  4. General skills applicable to this position include:
  • Ability to type 45 words per minute (net).
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interact tactfully and professionally with credit union staff as well as members and outside vendors.
  • Strong computer skills including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel (testing required). Microsoft Outlook is desirable.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizations skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with material of a sensitive nature.
  • Must have excellent grammar and proof reading skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills
Must pass pre-employment drug test and background screens, which includes a credit report.
 

Full-time Member Service Representative - Redding

Serves to provide consistent excellent service to our walk in and phone members. Performs transactions and side duties in an accurate and timely manner. Takes an active role in cross training in the branch and participating in weekly staff meetings. Actively promotes and provides credit union products and services to our members. Will be assigned to work on projects within the branch and/or in support of other departments within the Credit Union when needed. 

Salary Range: $13.00 to $18.12- Health, Dental, Vision, Gap & Life/AD &D benefits available, plus other perks!

Essential Functions
  • Provides consistent excellent member service to all members coming in the branch and calling in on the phone.
  • Performs variety of transactions in person and over the phone, including but not limited to: deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, purchase of monetary instruments, sale of stamps, reviewing account history, certificate transactions, IRA transactions.
  • Responsible for learning and becoming comfortable with credit union products and services available for members including, but not limited to: deposit accounts, interest bearing accounts, ATM and VISA check cards, online banking, e-statements, audio response, direct deposit and basic knowledge of loan products.
  • Provides cross selling opportunities to each member as fits their needs.
  • Responsible for learning financial institution regulations such as: BSA, Reg CC, Reg DD and Reg E and applying them.
  • Responsible for opening new accounts including certificates, IRAs and business accounts and complying with each account policy.
  • Processes cash with accuracy and security measures set in place according to policy.
  • Responsible for reading, studying and applying credit union policies and procedures as assigned.
  • Properly identifies members in the branch and over the phone.
  • Participates in routine side duties including, but not limited to: night drop processing, ATM processing, branch balancing, check stub balancing, coin shipments, TCR balancing, auditing various operations functions, keeping branch organized, supply inventory, filing, scanning and copying.
  • Complies with office safety and security guidelines and training.
  • Actively promotes credit union products and services to each member as appropriate.
  • Participates in appropriate and applicable training through the credit union library, on-site trainings, cross training to ensure job knowledge is current and up-to-date.
  • Is responsible for completing quarterly compliance training in all required regulations and polices, especially with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience and training in the banking field working with the public and/or experience in customer service and heavy cash handling is preferred.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • General skills applicable to this position include:
    • A minimum of a beginner level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
    • Advanced skills in using computers and related equipment, 10-key calculator, multi line telephone/intercom systems, and a variety of general office equipment including copy machines, scanners, and fax equipment.
    • Ability to Interact tactfully and professionally with credit union staff as well as external contacts. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in dealing with various personnel and member information.
  • Light travel is required. Travel to the various branch locations or to off-site trainings may be necessary but not regular.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test and background screens, which include a credit report.

Marketing Assistant

Responsible for assisting the marketing department in all campaigns and promotions. Assists the department VP and marketing specialist and performs a variety of project management, administrative, clerical, and other support related duties.

 

Salary Range: $14.84 to $22.86

Essential Functions
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

1.  Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing marketing campaigns. 
  • Enter survey responses received from the branches into digital entries.
  • Inform staff of upcoming campaigns with notices on the intranet and emails sent.
  • Support campaign awareness with staff.
  • Help create and oversee project tasks in Asana (department project management tool).
  • Help coordinate design projects with outside designers.
  • Help with preflight of design files.

2. Assist with planning and coordinating special events or seminars.
3.  Provide administrative assistance for the Marketing Department utilizing a range of computer software applications to include Microsoft Office, graphics software, and Windows or Mac operating systems.
4.  Maintain up-to-date and complete paper/electronic files for the department.
5.  Edit the occasional marketing collateral and other marketing materials. Proof work of others for accuracy and completeness.
6.  Maintain the department’s calendar of events and sponsorships.
7.  Maintain adequate supply of marketing materials and collateral. Determine when to reorder.
8.  Maintain and complete department reports, statistics, and campaign updates and distribute to staff or branches.
           A.  Maintain marketing expense reports.
           B.  Fulfill annual point adjustment report for Memberperks promo.
           C.  Create and track oversight reports from digital advertising on social media, such as Google/Facebook.
           D.  Scrubbing mail list data for duplications, charge offs, bankruptcies, etc.
  1. Fulfillment of marketing material orders from branches and sales team.
  2. Maintain and monitor marketing department CRM.
  3. Help coordinate/fulfill community donation, sponsorships, credit union programs and PEP program.
  4. Is responsible for compliance with all required regulations and polices, especially with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies, procedures and regulations.
  5. Other duties as assigned.
MENTAL DEMANDS: 
  • Must be willing to work in a team environment and meet established deadlines.

  • Ability to follow directions and procedures accurately and to organize facts and figures. 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 
  • May be required to travel to the various branch locations for events or meetings.
  • Extended sitting, focusing on and operating a personal computer intermittently throughout the day.
  • Ability to read printed words and numbers in printed form and on computer/terminal monitor.
  • Communicate by telephone, by email, and other forms of communication intermittently throughout the day.
  • Hearing enough to clearly hear voices in person and on the telephone.
  • Performing work through repetitive eye/hand coordination.
  • Daily standing intermittently while operating office equipment such as a FAX, printer or photocopier.
  • Write using pen/pencil or personal computer keyboard for extended periods daily.
  • Packing and lifting boxes up to 15-20 pounds
