Applying for your Members 1st account online is fast and easy. Before you start your application, please have the following information available:
- Social Security Number
- Date of Birth
- State issued identification (Government issued ID/Driver’s License/State ID with current address)
- Same information for Joint Applicant, if any
Existing members cannot add a suffix or a joint owner to their existing account online, nor can they open a business, minor, trust, or rep-payee account. Existing members must visit a branch to accomplish these account openings and adjustments.

Membership EligibilityAvailable to anyone who lives, works, or worships in Butte, Glenn, Shasta, or Tehama County
In addition, membership is extended to government employees, school employees, students, and their family members in the counties of Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Sierra, Siskiyou, and Trinity.
Does it cost anything to open an account?
You can open an account at Members 1st Credit Union for only $1. Since every member is a shareholder at Members 1st, your $1 minimum deposit acts as your share. This $1 deposit is NOT a fee, but cannot be drawn upon during your time of membership with Members 1st. If you ever wish to end your membership with Members 1st, the $1 share deposit will be reimbursed to you along with the remaining balance on your account.
New Members InstructionsNew members are required to provide one form of primary identification, one form of secondary identification, and one form of proof of residency.
Please bring with you one of the following forms of primary identification below. Your identification must include a photo, date of birth, and full name. Minor accounts require a child's birth certificate, Social Security Number, and date of birth.
- Valid California issued driver license or California identification card
- U.S. issued passport
- U.S. Armed Forces identification
- Federal Government Employee Identification (Must contain photo, date of birth, name and address)
Please bring with you one of the following forms of secondary identification below.
- Automobile registration
- Phone, utility or mortgage bill
- State issued birth certificate
- Credit card
Proof of Address
Please bring proof of residency with one of the following items below.
- Utility, telephone, cable, or internet bill
- Auto, home, or renter's insurance policy or bill
- Mortgage statement
- Rental or lease agreement
- Paystub or W2 tax forms
- Mail from a financial institution or Federal, State, County, or City government agency
